Starting our journey from quarter horses to tenneesse walkers to percherons to arabians through the years, Sunstone began its saddlebred journey in 2008 wanting to try something new. Formally known as Sunstone Arabians, we wanted to get into the ultimate show horse. Having seen a few saddlebreds and pintos in our lives we always had a great respect and admiration for the breed as a top show horse and known as the original TROT horse. We searched about 35 breeders here and there and within a couple of months or so we found our first saddlebred breeding prospect and from there it became our new passion, The American Saddlebred , The original All American horse!
Now Sunstone Saddlebreds and Pintos, We found our main ambition here, To produce Height, Length of Neck, TONS of trot in both front and hind ends, Pedigree, Trainability, Athleticism, and Overall beauty and presence in the American Saddlebred. Breeding prospects that we work towards producing here at Sunstone all have this and the ability to produce the same or better and the ability to breed on. All Saddlebreds here are hand picked individuals of the highest quality and the overall American Saddlebred standard.
We use only the highest quality bloodlines such as Calloway Blood, Supreme Sultan, Starheart Victory, Key Largo, WGC Wing Commander, Stonewall Blood as our primary source of old world classic style and trot along with pedigree, WGC Valley View Supreme, Burbon Blood, WGC Foxfires Prophet, Anachaco bloodlines as well as the top of the line Pinto blood that money has to offer such as Hot Augut Nite, Colour Me Hot, Chubasco, Tiger Woods, El Dorado Gold Chain, Monaco, The Tropical bloodlines as well as many more. We here at Suntone cheerish the old bloodlines and try to preserve them as well as a breeder can. We believe that the old bloodlines of the American Saddlebred is where it was at its height of quality and established its self as the standard and definition of the American Saddlebred and what the Saddlebred should be today, Sunstone wishes to carry out this promise to preserve the old blood of the future American Saddlebred.
We here at Sunstone also breed purebred Arabians and the great National Show Horse. Sunstone also stands Arabian and NSH stallions from time to time. We pride ourselves in the fact that our breeding program is diversified to make way for a bigger market for both Sunstone and outside clientel.
All breeding mares here are hand picked and chosen strictly on the Sunstone Standard Check List for which to see if they follow the American Saddlebred Standard. Some things we choose are based on Pedigree, Height, Refinment, Structure, Confirmation, Disposition,Trot and a horse with as little faults as possible. Our mares are best described as "HOT", not to be mistaken with the term "UNUSABLE". This is a quality we believe should be a trait in the American Saddlebred Show horse. We believe in using the highest caliber broodmares possible then finding a stallion to compliment that particular mare in creating the highest caliber show and breeding prospects.
Sunstone Saddlebreds has recently found our herd sire here at Sunstone! We welcome and are proud to announce FORTUNATE FLAIR O.V.F! Flair exhibits every quality we love in the Saddlebred as a breeding stallion and also as our foundation stallion. Flair has a pedigree built on generations on World Champions and Hall of Fame broodmares.
All show horses here at Sunstone Saddlebreds are put through a 30 day evaluation test to see there natural ability towards which seat is best suited for them. All horses then are put to work from 4-6 days a week on a very competitive training program devloped by Sunstone of not pushing them but guiding them to there maximum potential.
The best thing about Sunstone Saddlebreds that we take extreme pride in is our prices. We believe in quality NOT quantity. As our herd is relatively small and our marketing, training, and breeding programs are finely managed by Sunstone Marketing Director Jackie Mango, Our prices in return are unbelieveable. We believe a person shouldn't have to be penalized for the high cost of large herd breeding. All of out stock is at the working man or womans price. As so, choosing a high caliber show prospect won't be based on how much money you have in your wallet. We offer great prices, terms and everything in between to make sure everyone can experience the joy of owning an American Saddlebred.
